weniger

«weniger» (less) is an interactive installation, which deals with the pursuit of simplicity in the conduct of life, taking a critical look onto growth, improvement and wealth, the keystones of modern societies. The installation broaches this issue with an allegorical translation based on the principle of void, derived from traditional Japanese Aesthetics. Like the Japanese Tea Ceremonial, the installation creates a place for communication and self-reflection, due to the deliberate use of void. Similar to an empty stage, the installation thereby forms a frame, that is only filled with meaning by the presence and interaction of the visitors. «weniger» was shown in December 2013 at Pengland in Mainz, as part of my thesis.
